Anchor Federal's Mission Statement.
Anchor Federal Credit Union is committed to providing a wide variety of quality financial products and services, which will enable us to effectively meet the needs of our members in becoming their primary financial institution, while maintaining profitability and stability to safeguard members' deposits and equity.
What is a Credit Union?
Very simply, a credit union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution organized to promote thrift and provide credit to its members. Credit unions evolved from the simple idea that people could pool their money and make loans to each other. Credit unions are member-owned and controlled by the people who use them -- the members. Rather than paying stockholders, earnings flow back to members in the form of higher dividends, lower loan rates and fewer fees.
Safety & Soundness
All Anchor Federal share accounts are federally insured up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.
